We’ve all heard it before. “Don’t put God in a box.” “God is not a formula.” “God is bigger than we can ever understand.”
These kinds of phrases can be familiar at best and fatiguing at worst. We know God is everywhere… we know that God is beyond all boundaries. Tell us something new.
And yet, despite this knowledge, God still seems to surprise us. Why is this? God still seems to show up in moments when we don’t expect it, past boundaries we didn’t even realize we had.
“Unboxing God” is comprised of four noteworthy Sundays, some from the Christian calendar, some from River East’s own tradition. These Sundays will address a variety of subjects… but lurking beneath the surface is the story of the God who is present in all things: lofty and mundane, holy and profane.
We already know this… may Christ help us incarnate it as well.
